Belmont Use Terms

These terms govern use of Belmont County Released Inmates, including its editorial material, links, and partner tools. Accessing or using the site means accepting these conditions. Anyone who does not agree should stop using it. The rules protect lawful access to a private reference service while making clear that official custody and release decisions remain with the sheriff, courts, ODRC, and other government agencies.

This site is privately owned and has no affiliation with a government body, sheriff, jail, or corrections department. Neither it nor its advertising partners offers credit, employment, insurance, tenant-screening, or other FCRA-covered services. It is not a private investigation firm or consumer reporting agency; it helps visitors locate Belmont County and Ohio jail and inmate record resources.

Nature of the Service

This private reference site stores no official jail, court, release, or correctional records. It cannot confirm custody, order or complete a release, post bond, or file documents with an agency.

Its pages point readers toward Belmont County records, Ohio correctional resources, and independent research tools. Those sources remain responsible for their own information and services.

Acceptable Use Rules

Users agree to use the site responsibly and may not:

  • violate any law through or in connection with the service
  • stalk, harass, threaten, or harm another person
  • make hiring, housing, lending, insurance, or other regulated decisions from site information
  • seek access to accounts, systems, or data without authorization
  • operate bots, scrapers, or automated collection tools
  • interfere with service availability or another visitor's use

No Consumer Reports

The site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. It supplies no background check, credit report, or consumer report, and neither the site nor its advertising partners provides screening services. Users agree not to use information from these pages or linked tools for:

  • hiring, firing, promotion, or another employment decision
  • tenant selection or housing eligibility
  • creditworthiness, lending, or insurance pricing
  • licenses, permits, or government-program eligibility
  • any other decision governed by the FCRA

Third-Party Links

Links may lead to sheriff and corrections sites, release records, government portals, legal resources, and outside search providers. A link is not an endorsement. This site is not responsible for an outside service's content, privacy practices, prices, availability, or data handling. Users should read that service's own terms.

Service Provided As Is

The site and its contents are provided “as is” and “as available.” No warranty is made that:

  • information is accurate, complete, or current
  • the service will be continuous or available at a chosen time
  • pages will be free of errors, bugs, or security weaknesses
  • a partner search will return complete or useful results

Custody status and public records can change quickly. Nothing here is an official statement by the Belmont County Sheriff, a court, ODRC, or another agency.

Limits of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the site, its owners, and contributors are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or other damages arising from access, inability to access, reliance on content, or use of an outside tool.

User Indemnity

A user agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold the site, its owners, and contributors harmless from claims, losses, costs, and reasonable legal fees caused by that user's activity, misuse of information, or breach of these terms.

Ownership of Content

Unless a source is identified otherwise, site text, graphics, logos, layout, and code belong to Belmont County Released Inmates or its content partners. They may not be copied, republished, distributed, or modified without prior written permission or another lawful basis.

Revisions to Terms

These terms may be changed at any time. A revised version becomes effective when it is posted. Continued use after posting means the user accepts the revision.

Access Restrictions

Access may be suspended, limited, or terminated at any time, with or without notice, when necessary to protect the service, enforce these terms, or for another lawful reason.

Ohio Governing Law

Ohio law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute must be brought in a court with proper jurisdiction in Ohio.

Severability

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, the other provisions remain effective. The affected provision will be narrowed only as much as needed to make it lawful and enforceable.
